Marching in his boots . . .

According to Fox News, the Pentagon is investigating a Marine who is seen on video shooting a wounded Iraqi terrorist in Fallujah.

While shooting an injured (and helpless) enemy is obviously immoral and illegal under U.S. and International law, I hate to judge this young man when I haven't marched in his boots. Certainly, he deserves the presumption of innocence at this point . . . video notwithstanding.

And yet, innocent or guilty, this is not a good thing for the Marines or our attempts to win the support of those reasonable people in the middle-east.

The upside is that it might make those bastards who are faking wounds or death so they can attack our guys when they try to help think twice about doing so in the future. But then again, that would involve some rational thinking on their part and the chances of that happening are about as good as Arafat getting into Heaven.
